You love them, don’t you?
Give anything to make them notice
They don’t quite see they’ve been chosen
All those nights you go to sleep, broken
Wondering is it you or them, so you’re hoping
Dealing with the small things, coping
But the days are getting better and they don’t see
You were standing in their shadow, hopelessly
Now you’re grabbing your emotions back
And they chase after you like they’re running track
But they didn’t see where you’d been this entire time
Wondering should you fall for those tired lines
“I was busy” “I couldn’t reply”
Even God is busy, and he still has time
I tore myself apart loving you
And “you’re busy” come on tell the truth
You didn’t want me nor the time it took
I can read you like an open book
But because I fell out of loving you and began to love myself
I see now, happiness alone to me is wealth
Your smile gave me energy and hugs gave me positivity
It wasn’t mutual, so I had to step back.
Going back to the beginning these were the questions I just had to ask.
