No Filter

Do you remember having Bebo? Like picking out your background and waiting for someone to share one of their five hearts with you, so that your hearts on the profile could go up? Choosing what skin you’d use, asking friends to make one for you of yourself. Yet, there was not one filter. In the new age, we feel we have to use filters. I want to speak about some of them.
Reverse Psych Filter:
An individual pretending we have it all together and convincing others we are “happy”. The happiest people don’t have to tell you they are. Some people just obsess over the likes and the attention they attract. Those are the people I pray for, for healing and genuine happiness. We get so caught up in the filters that we forget it’s OK to NOT be ok.
NonC Filter:
An individual pretending they don’t care about anything because it’s “in”. Always making the “IDGAF” post trying to persuade us they are the people who genuinely don’t care. The entire time they can’t control their emotions for others once they’ve switched a simple hello. Those are the people who are sadden inside out. They’ve been hurt so much so telling others they don’t care one millions times a day can keep them at arm’s length. Those are the ones who need a hug and a listening ear. Not someone who’d judge them, someone who can literally aid in praying their pain away.
Flashy Filter:
An individual pretending someone needs proof. One reason why I’m winging away from social media, there are too many people with something to prove. The people who are always flashy and honestly anyone can obtain those things which they have. Those are the individuals yearning for recognition and because they fail to get it in their personal life they obtain it from social media. I pray for guidance for those individuals.
“The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room”
Denzel Washington
Seductive Filter:
An individual posting all of their parts for approval, likes, comments, shares or just out of boredom are what I will refer to as seductive filter. I honestly can say how I pray for them, I ask God to cover and keep those individuals. As crazy as it sounds, they’ve lost their value somewhere. You can pray any prayer you’d like for them. When you pray, do it without judgment.
The entire point of this blog is to ensure that you not only talk about these individuals, you pray for them too. I’ve been each one so I’m not passing judgment. Even if my pointers aren’t good, you’ve literally joined me in prayer and didn’t even know it. My goal is to not only identify but shed some bits of understanding AND pray for them. Even if you don’t know the person who seems off personally, pray. In this world we live in SMALL things are a cry for help. Feel free to shares so other can join US ALL in prayer.
